Bath Salt Gems

This is one of my most popular recipes and you can see why. These bath salt gems are gorgeous and they smell divine.

The good news is you may already have all of the ingredients on hand and, if not, a quick trip to the supermarket will soon set that right.

Here’s what you need:

  • Epsom Salts
  • Food Colouring
  • Baking (Bi-Carb) Soda
  • Essential Oils and a Carrier Oil
  • Water
  • Silicone Ice Cube Tray
  • Tray lined with grease-proof paper

Grab some cellophane bags and some pretty ribbon from the craft store to really dress it up and make Mum smile. You can find the full recipe here.

Pink Himalayan Bath Salt Cakes

These beautiful pink Himalayan Bath Salt cakes were made with a simple bath salts recipe and some cookie cutters. The kids will have an absolute ball making these.

I scented mine with rose essential oil and rose water, but you can substitute these for any essential oil or blend you like (or Mum likes).

Here’s what you need:

  • Epsom Salt
  • Pink Himalayan Rock Salt
  • Baking (Bi-Carb) Soda
  • Essential Oils and a Carrier Oil
  • Rose Water or just Plain Water
  • Cookie Cutters
  • Baking Tray lined with Grease-Proof Paper

Wrap your salt cakes in cellophane tied with a pretty ribbon to finish them off nicely for Mum. You can find the full recipe here.

Bath Salt Tubes

This recipe requires a trip to IKEA, but it is well worth it! You can make up to four different scents of bath salts and present them in these long glass tubes – so elegant!

Black Tea Foot Soak Cakes

Here’s an option for those Mums who would prefer a foot soak over a bath. Yep, you can turn your bath salt cakes into foot soak cakes (and vice versa).

I’ve made mine with an Irish theme (well it was St Patrick’s Day when I made them), but you can use any essential oils, any tea, any colour and any cookie cutter you like. The combinations are endless!

Here’s what you need:

  • Epsom Salt
  • Rock Salt
  • Tea Bags or loose leaf tea
  • Baking (Bi-Carb) Soda
  • Essential Oils and a Carrier Oil
  • Water
  • Food Colouring
  • A cookie cutter
  • A tray lined with grease-proof paper

Don’t forget to wrap them up in cellophane (or pop them in a cellophane bag) tied with a pretty ribbon for Mum. She’ll love them. You can find the full recipe here.

So, there you have it. Four easy-to-make bath salts recipes that are sure to impress Mum this Mother’s Day.
